Prescription Only is a collection developed around medicine. While sickness and medication are often framed through pain and vulnerability, this project deliberately steps outside that emotional cycle, examining medicine as a designed object from a graphic designer’s perspective.

The zine moves between rational observation and personal response, exploring packaging structures, branding logic, and visual language alongside moments of emotional presence and withdrawal. Through this process, the work sits between detachment and immersion, pain and relief, using design analysis as a way to suspend suffering while acknowledging its persistence.

The zine uses a disposable mask as its cover to reflect how illness and medication are often treated as clinical, temporary, and hidden. The mask acts as a barrier between the reader and the content, echoing ideas of protection, distance, and emotional suppression.

The Chemist Warehouse bag is included as a loose insert, functioning like an advertisement to reference the everyday, transactional nature of medication.
